Long Live Rock N Roll

Long Live Rock N Roll I draw, write, take pictures, video edit, film, and cook. Love good music & movies. I dare you to inspire me. (Обычная Русская Девушка в Лос-Анджелесе)
Did I say I write? Yeah, so I will be doing a lot of it here since 150 character limit on Twitter is not enough. Many of my photos are here

Mission accomplished. Did a detailed sketch of face and then full body. I think Axl, I need to put you aside for a couple of weeks.

I’m gonna rumble a bit today since it’s a blogging site!

I know ya’ll expect pictures of half naked guys particularly from 80s and 90s music era, and particularly rock’n’roll, but…

Here is the thing…Despite the fact that I love classic rock and all the bands that are no longer in their original line-ups, I still follow those musicians’ endeavors to do something new, something different, and occasionally something truly amazing.

It’s not a secret that I’m a big Guns N’Roses fan, that obviously includes the line-up from 1985 to 1996. Unfortunately, we probably won’t see the reunion ever. But, oh, well! My last read was Duff McKagan’s book “It’s so easy”, and I must say I was very impressed by the way he totally turned his alive around. Inspiring story.

Considering myself a huge fan of his music, that including his solo projects and all the work outside GNR, I took an immense amount of time to study all the material, and glad I did. Punk rock rules!

So, here is the highlight of this week. Last night I went to see Dead Men Walking in The Viper Room, here in WEHO, where they played a show with Duff McKagan. Those guys rocked the house. And to scoop it all up, Matt Sorum was standing right next to our group. A friend of mine, also a huge fan of GNR, asked him for a photo, and Matt turned out to be an amazingly friendly guy! Later on, waiting for my ride just a few blocks off next to the famous Saddle Ranch Chop House, I realized that I heard a familiar tune coming out from the speakers. I turned around just to see a video of Paradise City playing on two big screens facing the Sunset Strip!

Paradise City indeed. L.A. perhaps! Should I reconsider moving?

“I am a musician, not a rockstar” - Duff

I don’t know, but Duff’s Believe In Me has always been one of my favorite albums. The whole punk feel to it, and his extremely nasal voice is just something!

Trying to achieve this one this week.

I get asked by many of my friends why I listen to old music. Trying to describe my love to classic rock in one sentence “Because it’s better” just doesn’t cut it anymore.
I return my people tell me.
“How is it better? It’s about sex, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, and other explicit stuff.”
Ummm, yeah, but only a genius can use amazing metaphors to describe those nasty things with poetry.

Just some stuff I made up while reading Duff’s book.

I felt like making another collage, but school is getting the best of me, so I just reblog what I already did. Ha!

Whoever you are too-fast-for-duff, but you just made my phone blow up as i was working on my next doodle…
